Arthur Stocker was born in London, England, and as a young boy was always happy building things with bricks and wood. When he left school at 15, he had a variety of jobs and then joined the army. After 3 years, he returned to civilian life and tried a variety of occupations, but his heart led him back to school where he learned the skills of carpentry and joinery.
His years spent in home renovations led him to start his own business, which was predominantly installing windows, doors and sunrooms.
In 1992, with his wife and 2 teenagers, he took the big step of emigrating to Canada. He worked as a finishing carpenter before deciding to run his own business again. Arthur purchased a closet shelving company and it was a perfect opportunity to begin once more, carrying out home renovations and finishing carpentry alongside the shelving business. In addition to running the company, he also built 4 new homes, fulfilling another of his dreams. His current home in Cobble Hill is a continuing renovation project.
One of his greatest pleasures is taking raw materials into the workshop, using his skills and experience, and creating a beautiful closet or piece of furniture for the enjoyment of his customers.
